Accessibility
We want anyone to be able to use this site, including people using a screen reader, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced-motion settings.
What we have built in
- Semantic HTML with a single main landmark, labelled navigation regions and a skip link to the main content
- Full keyboard operation, including the mobile menu, accordions and the multi-step project brief, with visible focus indicators throughout
- Text and interface colours checked for contrast against their backgrounds
- Descriptive alternative text on photographs and labelled, described SVG diagrams
- Form fields with persistent visible labels, required-field marking, and error messages that name the fields needing attention
- Animation that respects the operating system's reduced-motion preference, and content that never depends on an animation having run
- Layouts that work at 320px width and reflow at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling
- A site that works without JavaScript for reading content and submitting the estimate form
The standard we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We test with keyboard navigation, automated checks and manual review. We do not claim full conformance, because accessibility is something a site either keeps meeting as it changes or quietly stops meeting.
Known limitations
- Photographs sourced from third parties carry descriptive alternative text written by us rather than by the original photographer.
- Form submissions are handled by our hosting provider; its confirmation and error handling is outside our direct control.
Tell us about a barrier
